Documenting my life with what books I'm reading, music I'm listening to and words I'm learning

Since moving to Swansea back in September 2008, my younger sister was given my lovely large room at my parents house in Cardiff and I was given the smaller room. Until last month that room had remained lilac and flowery. Although I spend very little time there – I wanted to make it my own, so that when I do return I will feel that much more at home. So off I went to Homebase straight after driving Fenula back from Swansea, picking up a cream matt based emulsion for three of the walls, and got a navy colour especially mixed (Royal Regatta 1). See the change below! Not completely finished yet as I am obviously back in Swansea now, still have carpet, curtains and duvet covers to get!

It has been just over a month since my last post. I do sincerely apologise. Within this month a lot seems to have happened. I completed my January exams and essays, started redecorating my room at my mums house, went to London and Amsterdam, read some cool stuff and went to some little gigs! I do apologise once more and hope that it will never go as long as this ever again!

On the 9th I turned 21. My housemates came from all over to surprise me for a night out on the Saturday (8th) and I had a one too many and it got a bit messy. I have already ruined my nikes for the record. So I woke up on Sunday, own my own at around 10am. I knew that my sister and her fiance were driving from Bristol to see my on my birthday and we had all arranged to go for breakfast. So I open my bits and bobs from mum and all week she had been teasing me about my big surprise. The only clues I got were that a) it would make me quit smoking and b) that I would have had to have done all of my washing. So I assumed some hardcore physical activity which would ruin my clothes and make me realise how unfit I am so make me quit smoking. But how very wrong I was. After locking the front door, I can hear Stevie Wonder ‘Happy Birthday’ playing and this big great silver mass with balloons all over it. As I came from around the trees and bushes a car stood waiting for me! She is beautiful and has been named Fenula. The name derivation is a long old story. So Mum drove Fenula to Juno Lounge for breakfast as I was in a delicate state and we went for a walk around Roath Park. In the evening Mum put on a spread and my friends and family came over. Had a really lush day despite being severely hungover in the evening which resulted in me not actually spending much time with my friends or family. Kate got me a chinese lantern which was lush, discovered them at Glastonbury last year, and my sis got me a ‘Wreck This Journal’ which I am going to start documenting on here as soon as my exams and essays are handed in.

As promised – here is Wednesdays word – it’s a good one!

Beside pimping out diana with my christmas money I also treated myself to a new pair of Nike Dunks – as I miss my old pair that I had to throw out due to an unacceptable level of filth. This also acts as a reminder to send out my thank you cards!

It is Monday but I will start Wednesday’s words from now on

In my below post of favourite christmas presents, my sister got me the one flew over the cuckoos nest tee. I’ve had a look on their website and everything is awesome! They make t-shirts and jumpers with ‘out of print’ book covers. They also work with the Books for Africa charity and donate one book after each purchase! Follow their blog

The next one i’m going to buy is George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, which I actually dressed up as for the English Literature Society Pub Golf!

Out Of Print Clothing

Please excuse the revision and cigarettes

Diana has been pimped! Her fisheye lens and flash arrived today. She’s a whole new woman.
